As we enter this new year knowing that our Daddy will be gone, for half of it, our hearts are heavy, but we are so thankful for technology! :) Dave will be able to easily keep in contact through email, a biweekly phone call complimentary of the USAF, and calling cards. We are also thankful that the base Dave will be at is the most secure base location of the middle east. It is free of mortar attacks and demonstrations. This location is considered to be an "oasis" for the military in the middle east who break for R&R. 

Here is a map to show where Dave will be deployed. By 7am tomorrow he will be gone. As Christians and being a military family, we understand the the duty and rewards of loyalty and sacrifice. We are proud of Dave and his willingness to serve God and country and ask that you keep us and him in your prayers throughout the next six months of 2009.  If you have time, please encourage him at: dg.is.dg@gmail.com, I am sure he will appreciate hearing from you! :)
