The House

We are finally homeowners. The thought is a little terrifying but exciting at the same time. We were fortunate to have wonderful realtors or we probably would have wimped out and would be in a rental! Our house hunting began with Penny and Jim Johnson of Long Realty, and what a comfort and relief that as we got to know them to find out that their hearts are into pleasing God. We owe them so much as they professionally guided us towards our home goal.

We spent about 2 and a half weeks house hunting. I know this does not seem like a long time, but with four kids in tow and 100 degree weather...the days started dragging quickly! We had some decisions to make. 1. Purchase an affordable house 30-45 minutes outside of Tucson and spend more on gas or 2. Purchase a smaller house closer to Tucson and spend more on the house payment. Either way, we realized quickly that we were gonna be pretty much broke! lol! As a two week time period came to an end we found ourselves praying at least 3 times a day for a house. Charlie especially was wording the sweetest prayers always adding "in your time, with your will". It's amazing how a even a nine year old can understand how God can move in our lives.

God opened doors for us and we are thankful. We decided on our house because of the location. With the soaring gas prices we did not want to be located too far from the base or the local congregation. We found a foreclosure that had been marked down the day before we looked at it. The new price had not even been listed yet. It is a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath, double garage with 2500+ sqft. It also offered a huge backyard which is very difficult to come by so close to town. Pluses for mommy was a huge kitchen and a garden tub in the master bdrm. I know you may still be thinking about that 3 bdrm with the 4 kids! Upstairs there is also a HUGE loft. So after a quick family meeting, Charlie decided he would take the loft as long as he could have the TV that Rich and Connie gave us in it and the school computer. lol! You really saved us Rich & Connie! lol!

We are getting settled into Tucson, but miss our OH family like crazy! Our time here is scheduled for at least 4 years during in which we hope the housing market sky rockets!lol!
